NEW FOR 2022
Thank you everyone for your wonderful support especially during this difficult year with COVID regulations. There could be more in the new year but we need to be positive and follow the government regulations when they announce from time to time. Meanwhile, we would like to have our new rules for the health and safety of our ramblers.
Because we are not a paying association there is no legal obligatation to follow the rules but please respect the others as well your own well-being. Please bear in mind that we do not have first aiders in our group and it is hoping that there will be a basic training soon when the situation improves.
1. In Ramblers Association, they advised all ramblers to give their personal details for health and safety as well in an emergency. Because we do not hold personel records but contact numbers so we can offer an emergency card each. In this information, you can add your medical details and phone number. You carried it with you at all time at every walk and you can even use it for when you go shopping, travelling or even away on holiday. You do not have to do it if you dont want to. It is your rights but it could save life.
2. Ramblers need to attend walks regular before they could lead a route for the group. It is difficult to calculate at this time of the pandemic but ideally say 3 or 4 times within the last 18 months. We understand the long distance but we are trying to be feasible for all by spread the starting points around Essex and borders. Sometimes this cannot be done depends on the leaders, surroundings, weather conditions and commitments.
3. It is the leader and sweeper's responsible to ensure the safety of all ramblers by guiding them to the right directions. Leader should be at the forefront and the sweeper at the far back of the group whenever possible.
We hope you will understand this new rules and dont let them put you off walks. We have been doing so well this far and so proud that we have stick together thick and thin. Fresh air and great friendship will keep us going for many more years to come.
